Top Tegs
Classes for children wanting to learn to swim. Stages 6-7 and extra curricular stages
The final stage of the learn to swim programme where your swimmer becomes a top teg. These sessions are longer enabling your top teg the chance to build upon their stamina and strength, which they will need for their longer galas. They also have the chance to work on extra curricular activities, such as Rookie life saving, water polo, diving and synchronised swimming.
What will they learn: stages 6-7
During these sessions your top teg will learn to perfect their stroke technique while increasing their distance. They will learn to improve their overall timing or their stroke and will further work on personal survival and coordination in the water.
Rookie Life Saving Bronze-Gold Awards:
Here your swimmer will have the chance to experience swimming in their clothes, how best to ensure they are remaining safe in and around water, whilst also learning a large range of different rescues and personal survival techniques.
Besides who hasn't wanted to blow up their trousers into a big ballon to float!
Water Polo stages 8-10:
During our water polo sessions your swimmer will work on how to travel with the ball, effectively pass and shoot, all the while out of their depth treading water. They will learn how to work as a team in friendly matches as they combine many of the techniques they have gained over the swim programme.
Diving stages 8-10:
Here your swimmer will work on improving the techniques and skills required for the perfect dive. They will learn how to extend and orientate themselves into the correct alignment to dive, helping them improve their sprint times during galas or simply enter deep water in a really cool way.
Synchronised swimming stages 8-10:
During the synchronised swimming weeks, your swimmer will be able to learn possibly one of the hardest water activities. They will learn a range of movements and techniques, such as a tub or oyster, and then work on coordinating as a team to perform these whilst synchronised.
