Classes for children wanting to learn to swim from 3 months – 4 years
Mother and toddler swim sessions are an amazing way to spend time with your little lamb.
Our calm friendly atmosphere is a great way to spend bonding and sensory time for you both. To introduce them to the joys of water play and start building water confidence.
As your child progresses through a range of fun games, songs and activities, these instructor led sessions will encourage your little lamb to interact with the water – building confidence and skills that will lay the foundations for first steps towards swimming and earn Duckling awards as they progress.
In the later groups they will then progress to learning how to propel themselves through the water, hold floats and become more independent.
Once children are three they can attend our unaccompanied pre-school lessons.
For over 4s learning to float, rotate and become more confident and adept at travelling in water.
Here your Wading Woollies will begin their learn to swim journey.
Located in the shallow end of our pool the majority of swimmers will be able to stand up but don’t worry they won’t be spending much time on their feet at all.
These classes are designed for beginners and complete non swimmers.
During these sessions your little woolly will begin to learn how to travel through the water, orientate themselves, rotate, build water confidence and begin to learn the basics of all 4 strokes and of course how to be safe around and in water. Max 6 per class.
Continuing development for independent swimmers.
Here your little Super Sheep will progress to the deep end of our pool where they will be able to start learning how to coordinate their arms and legs.
They will also continue to learn about water safety and have an opportunity to begin to practice diving.
During these sessions they will be finishing off their stage 3 and making good progress on their Stage 4 while achieving additional stages in between. They will learn how to rotate in the deeper water and work on improving their leg kick for all 4 strokes while coordinating their arm stroke.
Other skills such as treading water are also introduced in this group. Max 6 per class.
Your racing ram begins to work on increasing their strength and stamina as they now swim lengths of the pool.
During these sessions they will also begin skills such as sculling and get the opportunity to partake in our in house galas.
Here they will be finishing off the last of their stage 4 and completing their stage 5.
They will need to learn and demonstrate each of the 4 strokes to a higher standard and be able to demonstrate good breathing technique, whilst also learning the basics of synchronised swimming and further progressing their treading water.
Classes for children wanting to learn to swim. Stages 6-7 and extra curricular stages
The final stage of the learn to swim programme where your swimmer becomes a top teg.
These sessions are longer enabling your top teg the chance to build upon their stamina and strength, which they will need for their longer galas.
They also have the chance to work on extra curricular activities, such as Rookie life saving, water polo, diving and synchronised swimming.
During these sessions your top teg will learn to perfect their stroke technique while increasing their distance.
They will learn to improve their overall timing or their stroke and will further work on personal survival and coordination in the water.
Looking for the perfect way to start your morning or unwind after work? Our adult swim sessions offer a peaceful space to enjoy the water, boost your fitness and stretch out those tired muscles.
